Paul Stolorz has over 20 years experience as a technology executive and innovator. Before Sandlot Zero he served as Google’s first Engineering Director for Production Software. There he was responsible for software development and support of Google’s global production infrastructure, and led the Fastergoogle team that drove Google’s well-known focus on latency reduction. Prior to Google he served as a Product Management executive at Sandpiper Networks, where he headed Sandpiper’s industry-leading Content Delivery Network (CDN) product line. Prior to Sandpiper he helped pioneer the field of datamining while serving for several years as head of Datamining R&D at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory. Stolorz graduated with an MBA from Pepperdine University and holds a PhD in Physics from Caltech.
Chris Dean has spent more than a decade driving product development as a software developer and engineering executive at several Valley startups. Prior to developing Sandlot Zero, Dean co-founded Merced Systems, a leading provider of performance management solutions, where he served as the CTO and VP of Engineering. He was responsible from company inception through launch for the development of the company’s flagship product line, and held critical roles in raising capital and in liaison with key clients. Prior to founding Merced, Dean served as VP of Software Development at eToys after its acquisition of groundbreaking parenting and ecommerce website Babycenter, where he led engineering efforts for the awarding-winning company’s ecommerce engine. Dean majored in Physics at Caltech.
Carlos Armas has been involved with TCP/IP networking and Internet operations for over 20 years. Before Sandlot Zero Carlos served as Managing Director for Roundtrip Networks, consulting in network and data center operations for early-stage and mid-size online startups. Prior to Roundtrip Networks Carlos served as Director of Network Operations and Technical Services for Opentable.com, the online reservation and guest management network, and before that as Director of Network Operations for Babycenter.com. Carlos has provided consulting services to a variety of commercial and non-profit organizations, including the U.S. Arthritis Foundation, ConsumerHealthInteractive.com, Pampers.com, and several other organizations in developing countries. Earlier in his career Carlos worked with the Internet Society (ISOC) as TCP/IP networking instructor for ISOC's Developing Countries Network Workshop. Carlos holds a B.S. degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Havana.
